BSM New Functionality for Lesson Booking System for ecommerce Promotion
The successful launch of the ecommerce BSM Lessons Booking website www.bsmlessons.co.uk at the beginning of June 2009 drew in some great reactions and responses both internally and externally. So much so, that BSM then approached us a couple of weeks later to make some further updates to the site in time for their Q3 promotion, which required the addition of a "special offer" discount feature.
The key objective of BSM's Q3 promotion was to entice new customers, with a great deal, that allowed them to buy 10 lessons for a set discounted amount. The online functionality for the promotion was simple; users who entered the www.bsmlessons.co.uk site directly would see the option to select the limited special offer deal and proceed through the buying process as normal. All advertising, however, would direct customers to the dedicated landing page that Selesti built and integrated; www.bsmoffers.co.uk. From here customers would then be seamlessly taken to the lesson booking website where the total for 10 lessons in their location would be clearly displayed.
Having been provided with the flat creative by The Agency for the landing page, we then proceeded to build the page in xHTML, whilst simultaneously building the new functionality into the main Drupal and UberCart powered website. The new functionality would allow the special discount option to be showcased on the front end, and then those 'special' orders would be saved in the websales booking system, clearly identified as a special offer order.
Once the main functionality was complete, tested and signed off on the main site, we were then able to integrate these with the landing page, so that the postcode entry and card type selection could be pulled through directly to www.bsmlessons.co.uk, thus bypassing the initial step and providing the user with the special offer amount for their 10 lessons.
This promotion and the new functionality added the lesson booking website has been extremely successful, seeing an increase in traffic to the site of more than 500% in the past month.
