The inaugural "Brainchild" Dragon\'s Den style contest took place this evening at NUCA\'s (formerly Norwich Art School) new building on Duke Street in Norwich.
The challenge was to pitch a business concept to a panel of judges, made up of successful Norwich companies who were also acting as sponsors, providing over £2,000 in prize money.
Over the last 2 months, 8 weekly workshops have taken place, where the students could speak 1-2-1 with the cream of Norfolk industry including representatives from Selesti. From what they learnt in these seminars they have honed their business plans and the shortlisted finalists presented to the judges in the hope of winning the cash prizes.
The Selesti second prize was won by Chris Jackson, whose bespoke furniture idea perfectly typified the ideas the contest aimed to attract, being innovative, artistic, creative and all delivered with a sound concept of routes to market and how to make the products a success.
