International skincare & beauty product company Malibu have chosen Selesti to manage their digital output. The British owned company have bypassed the recent recession and looked to appoint a similarly trend-bucking business in growth mode to help their markets go from strength to strength.
Alongside Malibu\'s cutting edge product development, our job will be to help them break into new international markets and reinforce the brand identity they\'ve cultivated of \'family suncare protection\'. The first project, already well underway, is for their Just Desserts sub-brand. The new website designed and developed by Selesti will include a Worldpay integrated ecommerce engine, be fully content managed and rely heavily on Flash animation to give the lush, colourful feel the target audience will respond strongly to.
The extensive remit of diffusion lines including self-tan, winter sun and lines catering for the youth/teen sector (a catalogue which is now in excess of 140 products) will be presented digitall by Selesti - the key objective being to position them each perfectly to match their myriad of audiences - Malibu pride themselves on catering for all age groups and walks of life.
Traditionally deemed as a ‘budget’ brand, Malibu has since morphed itself into a celebrity favourite and the brand that has single handedly occupied more media coverage than any other suncare brand for the 2009 season.
As well as growing steadily in a difficult financial climate, the two companies share other ideals including a competitive pricing structure on what they deliver, possessing a great reputation, and being multi award-winning - all often being cited in research as to why each has been preferred to rivals.
The first \'budget\' product to grace the cover of \'The Times\' beauty pages, Malibu has also been the recipient of awards and accolades in 2009 - including in Sugar Magazine for "Best self-tan", Grazia for "Best Suncare", the Beauty Bible gong for "Best Suncare" and Practical Parenting\'s "Best kids\' product" amongst others.
Recently, Malibu secured exclusive suncare sponsorship to British outdoor summer festivals including T in the Park, Ben & Jerry\'s Sundae on the common and V Festival based at Chelmsford and Stafford. We will be working closely with their dedicated new development team to ensure future product launches are similarly \'of the moment\' and unique.
