TNT Magazine website set for Social Networking overhaul

Publishing company TNT Magazine has chosen Selesti for the brand new design, development and support of websites on their multiple magazine domains.

Based in London & Norwich and established in 1983, TNT Magazine has grown to date thanks to attracting an active audience originally from South Africa, New Zealand and Australia now living in London, offering them features and editorial regarding channels including travel, accommodation, jobs, news, hotels and events and more.

Selesti will be creating a digital edition of their main publication and providing centralised online control over the multiple sites they run; offering content, advice and help for Saffers, Kiwis, and Aussie ex pats staying, living and working in the UK.

One of the key objectives is creating a world class user experience. With such a mammoth amount of content for their members and visitors to wade through we plan to achieve this thanks to a considered and thorough design process; initially placing emphasis on information architecture - carefully planning the location of key content and how the client can signpost features to aid their visitors’ navigation though their site.

At the core of the initial build project will be an extremely powerful content management system (CMS) which enables the cloning and configuration of multiple websites via one single administration panel. This modular and scalable website is to benefit from a wide array of CMS features including SEO-friendly coding with 'hands-on' control given to the client. This will maximise return on investment for the project with their admin users able to optimise all content upon upload - no Google AdWords certificate required - we'll use our Search Engine Marketing expertise to create simple CMS forms and instructions to follow.

The front end of the site will feature a 'Classified' section for items such as jobs, housing and sales between visitors. We will also be integrating 3rd party feeds, all amended as desired by the administration users. A good example of this will be in the event 'What's On' section, which will be huge in part thanks to the many external feeds contributing to it. On top of this we'll create a calendar, supply EventBrite integration, all of which will be accessible to the visitors using a comprehensive event search. Several intelligent aspects will be combined here with criteria-based alerts based upon users preferences.

Selesti will be applying our considerable ecommerce experience to develop bespoke shopping cart for tickets and other products to be purchased online, enabling downloads and subscriptions to be instigated too.

Further to this an easy to use personal My Account area will provide TNT's audience with social networking tools, and encourage user generated content thanks to comments facility, blogs, chat and forums modules and will of course be seamlessly integrated with Facebook and Twitter API.

Outside of the bread and butter website design and development project our creative team will conceive and deliver email marketing creative and many more complimentary services besides as appropriate, one example offering consultancy and technical assistance in setting up a cloud hosted solution for the colossal cluster of sites providing them with improved scalability and growth, security and performance.

TNT Magazine has published over 165 travel guides and also owns the South African Times, South African Magazine and TNT Jobs. The plan is to use Selesti to integrate these titles and more into our content managed solution in 2011.
