The NUA’s business competition top prize was scooped by Albert Clegg in 2014, and he describes his concept as “...an online platform for up and coming artistic talents to showcase their work, products and ideas.”
Despite his business being less than a year old, Albert has already recruited three great contributors; George Mapp, Gingaplz, and Rafail Kokkinos. Each artist brings something different to the table from graphic design to photography, along with raw art talent; and has meant that The Bean Creative is already the the collaborative project Albert pitched to the Brainchild judges.
Working Together - Norwich University of the Arts & Local Businesses
Selesti have teamed up with Norwich University of the Arts to speak to students, to advise and judge as part of the Brainchild Competition for six years now. This Dragons’ Den style process gives art and design students the opportunity to show how their creative work can be a real money maker.
The Bean Creative were rewarded with many hours of free mentoring, guidance and support from top local firms such as Lovewell Blake, and Farrows. Albert also gained Norfolk Network membership and in turn the chance to become a key part of the local art and business community. Another element of the prize package was the opportunity to build a website with Selesti’s army of developers.
The Bean Creative website
The website we’ve teamed up to create is a responsive Wordpress site with a cool, contemporary look.
Contemporary, Responsive, Creative
The website we’ve teamed up to create is a responsive Wordpress site with a cool, contemporary look. It’s set to be a platform for local artists to come together and for collaborations to blossom. It features a blog, artist profiles and showcases of The Bean Creative work. But more than that, the budding entrepreneur needed to integrate an online store.
By using the Woocommerce plugin Albert and the team are now able to market their wares - from custom t-shirts to logo print beanies. Integrating Woocommerce offers a wealth of features that The Bean Creative guys can now utilise - from easy Paypal payments to running marketing campaigns, and even reporting.
