“Selesti went beyond the call of duty and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone that is looking for new ideas and superb service.”

Ross Mendham, Dragons' Den Winner & CEO, Barenaked Foods

Mobile-friendly, uncluttered website build on a tight deadline

The brief was to produce a mobile-responsive, clean and uncluttered website, utilising a minimalistic product purchase user journey.

We called upon our extensive and award-winning knowledge of eCommerce UX, web design and development.

The high level of traffic expected straight after launch made this project truly unique to work on. Dragons’ Den is viewed by 1.9 million people, which meant the website would have to be able to handle an influx of visitors in the days after the show.

Knowing many of the first visitors would be watching the show, it was essential to have a responsive, mobile-friendly web design. Visitors needed to be able to enjoy a seamless experience from the comfort of their sofa using tablets, iPhone or Android devices.

Landing on the BareNaked Foods website, visitors are immediately greeted with products to buy alongside high-resolution photography of the food in context. We minimised the steps from arrival to checkout to help CRO and mobile customers.

Burst of colour and great imagery for better aesthetics

Whilst the noodles are a winning product, they're fairly transparent so our design team introduced blocks of colour and creative styling throughout the website.

Combining the styling and colour blocks with inspiring imagery of delicious looking food boosts the aesthetics of the website and entice people to view more pages.

Bespoke eCommerce Content Management.

The functionality of this website was delivered via a customised version of our own Content Management System, ‘CMS HQ’. This gives Ross Mendham and his team the ability to manage orders, products, prices, offers and website content without any technical know-how required.

Any new content added to the site is inserted using set parameters and templates, so the team doesn’t need to worry about ensuring everything is on brand – CMS HQ does it for them.

The speedy turnaround and unique scenario of this project made it a challenging, yet enjoyable job. If you’ve got a website redesign or need digital marketing assistance, get in touch today.

Since writing this case study, due to the success of their products with supermarkets and specialist stores, Barenaked Foods has taken the decision to remove the eCommerce section of their website despite its success.
