Double The Nominations, Double The Pride
Each and every member of the Selesti team has been left with an overwhelming feeling of pride, as we have been announced as finalists for this year’s EDP Best Employer Award!
Double that pride for one particular team member, as our very own ‘Elmo’, Emily Cox is a finalist at this year’s DevelopHer Awards!
Roll on November, when we were already headed to Manchester on 11th November for the 2015 Digital Entrepreneur Awards, where we’re finalists for Best Social Media Campaign of the year and Digital Team of the year. This is our most nominated month on record!!
Back to the latest news - and having been selected in the shortlisted five, the EDP Business Award judges came to see for themselves if we are as sunshine and rainbows as our entry made out! In true Selesti style we had a chat over a cuppa, and Selesti positivity guru, Victoria Lynskey, sung the praises of everything she believes makes her job great.
We had a Q&A session and told the judges all about our Supercharged days, Innovation days, Fat Fridays, and things that make our team run* to work everyday!
Lynn Walters from Pure Resourcing Solutions, the awards’ sponsor for the third year running, says the judges are looking for great leadership and much more -
“Great leadership and having a great vision that the staff really understand, and really buy into, and come alive day to day.”
All in all, we must have impressed, as we have made the final 3! This year’s ceremony takes place on the 5th of November, and the whole team is keeping everything crossed for the same success as last year - when we scooped Small Business Of The Year!
Speaking of success stories…
This year’s DevelopHer Awards have selected our Technical Co-Ordinator, Emily as a finalist for the Tech Star Award!
The DevelopHER Awards are about raising the profile of women in tech in East Anglia. There is a vibrant tech community in East Anglia, and we want women to be a part of that.
Last month Emily was interviewed, along with Awards organiser Vickie Allen, on MustardTV to raise awareness of the awards and highlight the issue with there being a lack of females in the tech industry.
Thoughts on the award Emily?
“I think the Developher awards are a great opportunity to highlight the brilliant ladies in tech. I was really touched to learn that Selesti had taken the time to put me forward for the Tech Star award - it feels great to be appreciated by my employer and I really hope the awards encourage others to get into the industry.”
We are made up that our Elmo - who is always a star in our eyes - is getting some extra recognition for being an amazing developer! The bash is on the 25th November and we can’t wait to find out if she is crowned a winner!
